Butterfly valve is not only simple in structure, small in size, light in weight, low in material consumption, small in installation size, small in driving torque, easy and fast in operation, but also has good flow adjustment function and closing sealing characteristics at the same time. Butterfly valve is not an automatic valve, its opening and closing needs to install a transmission device and cooperate with manual operation to complete. So what are the transmission methods of the butterfly valve?

Common butterfly valve transmission methods are: handle, worm gear, electric, pneumatic. Let's talk about it one by one.
Handle butterfly valve: A handle is installed on the butterfly valve, and the opening and closing of the butterfly plate is controlled by pulling the handle, and the pulling angle is 0~90°. The handle butterfly valve is greatly affected by the caliber and pressure, and can only be used on pipelines with pressure ≤ PN16 and caliber ≤ DN200. The price of the handle butterfly valve is the cheapest among these transmission modes.
Worm gear butterfly valve: a butterfly valve with a very wide range of applications. A worm gear head is installed on the butterfly valve, and the opening and closing of the butterfly valve is controlled by the worm gear drive. The worm gear drive controls the opening and closing of the butterfly plate by rotating the handwheel and driven by the turbine box gear. The worm gear butterfly valve is not limited by the caliber and pressure. The worm gear butterfly valve can be used on pipelines as small as DN50 and above 1 meter in diameter. Worm gear butterfly valves can also be used on medium and high pressure pipelines.
Electric butterfly valve: An electric actuator is installed on the butterfly valve, and the switch of the butterfly valve is driven by electricity. The electric butterfly valve has the characteristics of simple operation and easy remote control. The switching speed of the electric butterfly valve can be adjusted. The structure is simple, easy to maintain, and available It is used to control the flow of various types of fluids such as air, water, steam, various corrosive media, mud, oil, liquid metal and radioactive media.
Pneumatic butterfly valve: It sucks air through a pneumatic actuator, compresses the air, and then uses the compressed air as a power source to drive the valve stem to drive the disc-shaped butterfly plate to rotate around the axis of the valve stem, and the rotation angle is 0-90°. When the butterfly plate rotates 90° from the initial position, the valve will turn from open to closed, or from closed to open. Pneumatic butterfly valve actuators are divided into single-acting and double-acting forms, and double-acting is ventilation on and ventilation off! Among them, the single-acting actuator has the function of spring return, which can be automatically closed or opened in the case of gas and power failure, and the safety factor is high!
